Sequel to "Niall and the Irish Pirates"

I recently published my new book "Sons of Niall" on Amazon. It is a fictional story inspired by the legends associated with Niall Noigiallach, an ancient high king of Ireland that ruled from 368 to 396 CE.  Niall established a dynasty of powerful chieftains that dominated the island for six centuries.  He had many sons, both known and unknown to himself.  His descendants were the most powerful rulers of Ireland until the 11th century.  Often times the House of Niall fought amongst each other vying for kingship of the Irish provinces as well as high kingship of Ireland which ruled from the hill of Tara.  This story follows the sons of Niall that became kings.  It also details the rise of Christianity through the missionary efforts of a former slave captured by Niall who is known today as Saint Patrick.

The first book in the series, "Niall and the Irish Pirates", is being offered as a free promotional Kindle download this weekend (August 22 - 24).

Elijah at Horeb: The Voice in the Wilderness

I Kings 19:9 - Then he came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 He said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”

11 So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 14 Then he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”  NASB

When we see major events happen around us, we need to listen carefully for the voice of God and His message.  It is not in the earthquake or fire that God caused.  Rather it is in the sound of the gentle wind blowing which represents the spirit of the living God; a spirit that wishes to convey messages from heaven for our benefit.

Yesterday morning I saw a license plate on the vehicle in front of me that had three 7s and then a space followed by some letters.  Later that day I saw another plate from an out of state car with three 7s followed by a space and letters.  Both times I remember thinking what an odd coincidence.  Then, after work I went home and mowed my sister’s lawn with a push mower.  I did a lot of walking throughout the day and was curious as to how many steps I had taken so I checked my pedometer right before going to bed.  It read 14,000 steps, another multiple of seven.  So I started thinking that God had a message in the number 777.

After thinking about the number of triple 7s, I remembered that both Malaysian planes that went down recently were Boeing 777s.  It occurred to me that these airliners were the earthquake and fire from God before He spoke.  They were aimed at getting His people to listen for the sound of the gentle wind and understand its' message.  So what was the message?  The number 7 represents perfection and God’s creation for he created the world in six days and rested on the seventh.  So maybe the message was in the number 777.  I went to http://www.biblewheel.com/GR/GR_Database.php and entered the number 777 to search for Hebrew words within the Bible that have that same Gematria (number value when you add up the numerical equivalent of the Hebrew letters).  Following are the results of this search.

All the Words in the Bible with Sum = 777

Text Strong's First Occurrance

מתושאל  H4967 Methuwsha'el / Methusael - Genesis 4:18

בעשתה  H6213 `asah / do - Leviticus 4:27

ותישנהו  H3462 yashen / sleep - Judges 16:19

ושאלתם  H7592 sha'al / ask – 1 Samuel 25:5

ותשליכהו  H7993 shalak / cast - Job 18:7

ואתמשל  H4911 mashal / like - Job 30:19

למשאות  H4876 masshuw'ah / destruction - Psalms 74:3

כאשכלות  H0811 'eshkowl / cluster - Song of Solomon 7:8

השבעת  H7646 saba` / satisfy - Ezekiel 27:33

אתעקרו  H6132 `aqar (Aramaic) / plucked - Daniel 7:8

I would encourage the reader to read these verses in their context in the order of the list as I believe there may be a distinct message being presented.  For example, Methusael was a descendant of the Biblical Cain that killed Abel.  His name means “Man of God” according to Strong’s Concordance Hebrew meaning.  In Aramaic it means “Who demands his death”.  When you combine the meanings, you have “Man of God who demands his death”.  The next two occurrences of words with the 777 gematria deal with repentance/forgiveness.  Leviticus 4:27 concerns unintentional sins and bringing offerings for forgiveness once the individual becomes aware of his guilt.  Leviticus 23:32 is about preparing for the Day of Atonement (Judgement Day).  Verse 32 states that the day before the Day of Atonement – “It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath” NASB.  I Samuel 25:5 is in the context of David helping protect Nabal and then Nabal not returning the favor but returning evil for the good that David had done for Nabal.  Job 18:7 tells of the wicked’s schemes bring them down.  Job 30:19 is about Job, a righteous person, suffering and being humiliated in front of people.  Therefore the theme of these passages seems to be focused on God’s people, their sins and repentance in preparation for Judgment Day, and their suffering from wicked people and resultant humiliation in the world’s eyes.  In Psalms 74, the psalmist asks why God has rejected his people and allowed the enemies of God to triumph.  He reminds God to remember His covenant with His people.

The rest of passages start with a description of the beautiful bride followed by passages of judgment.  Song of Solomon 7 is a physical description of the bride (God’s people) by the admiring bridegroom (God).  Then Ezekiel 27 describes the destruction of Tyre which could easily describe the destruction of America.  The final passage in Daniel 7 is about the 11th king, the Little Horn or Antichrist.

To me the message is clear.  God’s people need to repent and prepare for the Day of Atonement.  It will be forgiveness and salvation for those that repent, but will be judgment and destruction for those that don’t.  In the end the Antichrist will be destroyed and God’s Kingdom established with God's Messiah as King.
The Kingdom of God is very near!  The sound of the gently blowing wind is speaking to those that are careful to listen.  The Turtle Dove has indeed arrived in the land.

The Messiah Son of David – Will you recognize him when he comes?

When the Messiah comes, he may come in disguise.  He may follow the examples of Joseph and Moses and appear foreign to his people.  He would then reveal himself to his brethren as Joseph and Moses did.  When they recognize him they will welcome him back to their family whether it is his first or second appearance.

The critical question we each need to ask ourselves is whether or not we have eyes to see and spiritual insight to recognize him when he comes.  What if the messiah comes as a common Jew from the land of Israel instead of as Christian theology proclaims?  How would you recognize him without the pagan attributes that have been given to him over the millennia or how would you recognize him if he doesn’t appear in the air with his angels?

The Messiah could come as the Creator’s small, still voice; a voice speaking so softly to the world that virtually nobody notices at first.  You would have to watch and listen carefully to recognize him.  You would need to look at the world around you without your theologicall biases in order to recognize him.

My belief is that most Jews and Christians may not recognize him in the beginning as they will be looking for something else.  It won’t be until the Messiah is well under way in bringing the lost ten tribes home to unite with Judah to restore God’s kingdom here on earth that some will recognize him by what he is doing and saying.  Many Jews and Christians may even say that he is a false messiah since he doesn’t conform to their particular theology.

We would all do well to remember that theology is man’s attempt at defining and understanding God and His truth.  You cannot contain the Creator of the Universe with our mental constructs and expectations.  He has demonstrated over and over that he works in very mysterious ways.  As the bible says in Isaiah 55: 7 – 9:  Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.  “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.  “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (NASB)

We live in a world of lies and illusions.  So much so that it is often hard to figure out what the truth is.  We know that God is truth and that his Messiah will represent God’s truth.  So don’t let your religious theology and doctrines get in the way of recognizing truth when it arrives.  Let us return to our Creator and find His truth!

The bible is clear that the Messiah will restore all the tribes of Israel and not just Judah (Jews) in forming the Kingdom of God here on earth.  Watch for much to happen in the coming days, weeks, and months.  Don’t focus on the tribulation as it occurs all around you, but rather put your sights on God and His truth. Those with eyes to see will see truth and miracles all around in the midst of all the turmoil.  Will you recognize him when he arrives?  He may not fit the image you were expecting.  He will be filled with God’s truth and be about the tasks he has been assigned.  You recognize him by his truth, his actions, and what he accomplishes.

America Embraces the Abomination of Desolation

The Judean Wilderness

Many things in the Bible are identified as an abomination to God.  Take a look at the examples in the following verses from the New American Standard Bible:

Deuteronomy 22:5 - A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 23:18 - You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a dog into the house of the Lord your God for any votive offering, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 23:18 - You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a dog into the house of the Lord your God for any votive offering, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 7:25 - The graven images of their gods you are to burn with fire; you shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, or you will be snared by it, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God.

Leviticus 18:22 - You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

All of the things identified in the verses above as abominations had judgment associated with them.  However, only one of them is famous for the judgment that resulted in total desolation of the land and it involves the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.  A description of it is found in Genesis 19:24 - Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, 25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.  27 Now Abraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the Lord; 28 and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the valley, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a furnace.

Now, when you think of our (USA) current government, including the administration and courts, we find a disturbing trend in allowing the abominable activity that resulted in the desolation of Sodom and Gomorrah.  When you compare what is going on in our country to the words of the prophet Daniel, it is easy to see a connection.

Daniel 11:31 - Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. 32 By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.

Our once godly country (sanctuary) has been desecrated without the permission of the righteous remnant.  Our regular prayers (sacrifice) along with religious displays are being done away with from the public arena.  By flattery (smooth words) our leaders tell people what they want to hear and encourage them to go against God’s commandments.  It is easy to look at today’s events and see ancient prophecies being fulfilled right before our eyes.

Some will point to the Dome of the Rock on Temple mount and say that that is the Abomination of Desolation.  Others will point to the destruction of the Jewish Temple in 70 AD and say that is when the sacrifice was done away with.  I would remind such folks that that is all true.  However, history shows that many times prophecy is fulfilled in many ways, physical and spiritual, and at multiple times throughout history due to the quantum nature of prophecy.  We are living in prophetic days and will continue to see the fulfillment of God’s words.  I would refer my readers to a previous post I did dealing with Daniel chapters 7 and 11 titled “The Last King of the Kingdom of Man”.

Jewish Secrets Hidden in the New Testament

I traveled to the West Bank of Israel in the fall of 2009 during Succot and stayed with two Orthodox Jews, Rabbi Avraham Feld and OvadYah Avrahami.  It was great getting to know them and the challenges they face settling the land promised to the Children of Israel.  Rabbi Feld and OvadYah recently published a book on Amazon called "Jewish Secrets Hidden in the New Testament: The Growing Global Torah Revolution".  I had the chance to review an early draft of their publication and it is well worth your time to read.  It is a must read for anyone seeking deep scriptural truths.  Here is the summary description of their book found on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Jewish-Secrets-hidden-New-Testament/dp/1484113551/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1388784195&sr=1-1&keywords=jewish+secrets+hidden+in+the+new+testament

The well hidden Jewish Secrets in the New Testament are the driving force behind one of the most sensational News events of our Time – an event which is dynamically driving a fast growing Global Torah Revolution amongst non-Jewish Bible believers. After lying dormant for nearly 2000 years in the pages of the New Testament, Avraham Feld, an orthodox Rabbi, now reveals astonishing proof from the pages of the New Testament itself that, contrary to commonly accepted Christian interpretation, these writings are largely founded on traditional Jewish Biblical principles. Acceptance of these original Jewish realities by growing masses of New Testament readers is currently sweeping the world. This book presents Indisputable proof of how this current phenomenon which is evolving from these Jewish religious foundations, astoundingly confirms the unfolding of ancient Bible Prophecies. According to Bible Prophets of old and Jewish Sages throughout the ages, these Prophecies were destined to be revealed in the ‘End Time’. Jewish, Christian and even non-religious commentators of the day all agree that we have now reached this prophesied Era. This timely publication recounts the Prophetic Directives and the obstacles in the way of the ultimate fulfillment of the Divine Intention for the establishment of a re-united 12-Tribed Kingdom of Greater Israel. This review will guide you to understand the unfolding of the Climax of the Ages – the establishment of the Kingdom of God, dreadedly to evolve through a nuclear War which is now threatening Israel. Niall and the Irish Pirates

In December of 2012 I had my DNA tested by Family Tree DNA and was surprised to find that I was a direct descendant of an ancient high king of Ireland named Niall Noigiallach.  Family Tree DNA noted that a recent study was conducted at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, which found that a striking percentage of men in Ireland (and quite a few in Scotland) share the same Y chromosome, suggesting that the 5th-century warlord known as "Niall of the Nine Hostages" may be the ancestor of one in 12 Irishmen. Niall established a dynasty of powerful chieftains that dominated the island for six centuries.  In the Trinity College study scientists found an area in northwest Ireland where they claim 21.5 % carry Niall’s genetic fingerprint, says Brian McEvoy, one of the team at Trinity. According to McVoy this area was the main powerbase of the Ui Neills, which literally translated means "descendants of Niall" (Family Tree DNA Report 2013).

Niall of the Nine Hostages received his name from the taking of hostages as a strategy for playing mental havoc upon his opponent chieftains. He is known in folklore as a raider of the British and French coasts.  The chronology of Keating's Foras Feasa ar Éirinn broadly agrees, dating his reign from 368-395 CE, and associating his raiding activities in Britain with the kidnapping of Saint Patrick.  Niall was supposedly slain either in the English Channel or in Scotland.  His descendants were the most powerful rulers of Ireland until the 11th century (Family Tree DNA Report 2013).

Modern surnames tracing their ancestry to Niall include (O')Neill, (O')Gallagher, (O')Boyle, (O')Doherty, O'Donnell, Connor, Cannon, Bradley, O'Reilly, Flynn, (Mc)Kee, Campbell, Devlin, Donnelly, Egan, Gormley, Hynes, McCaul, McGovern, McLoughlin, McManus, McMenamin, Molloy, O'Kane, O'Rourke and Quinn (Family Tree DNA Report 2013).

I started doing research on Niall and found he was both a king in Ireland who also held the title the king of Tara.  The title king of Tara represented a very old ideal of sacred kingship in Ireland.  It had a mythical quality stretching back deep into the ancient times.
After doing some research, I took a break from posting on this blog to write a book about Niall.  My book is a fictional account inspired by the traditions and legends passed down from ancient Ireland and is available on Amazon for e-book downloads.

Some Christians are Balaam while others are the Donkey

In Revelations Chapter 2:12-17 there is a letter to the one of the early churches that is critical of them for holding to the teaching of Balaam.

12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write:  The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this:  13 ‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality. 15 So you also have some who in the same way hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore repent; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of My mouth. 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’  NASB

Balaam was a prophet from Midian that had a relationship with the one true God.  However he did not understand God’s plans for his chosen people, the Israelites, and was willing to hire himself out to curse God’s people (Numbers Chapter 22).  Balaam was siding with Israel’s enemies against God and His people even though Balaam himself knew God and had a relationship with Him.

I see many Christians today that fit this description and belong to the church of Pergamum.  They side with the Palestinians and push for the “Two State Solution” to divide the land promised to the Israelites in an effort to alleviate Palestinian suffering and bring peace to the region.  They fail to recognize that the Palestinian suffering is a result of choices the Palestinians have made and they also fail to see what God’s plan is for Israel just as Balaam did.  Some of the extreme in the Church of Pergamum teach replacement theology saying that the church has replaced the Jews and are now God’s chosen people.  They teach that the Jews are not from Judah but are Edomite converts.  These extremists say they love God and follow him all the while filled with hatred for the Jews.  These “Christians” indeed have the spirit of Balaam in them.

In the Biblical narrative in Numbers Chapter 22, Balaam is on his way to curse the Israelites and the Angel of the Lord is waiting along the way to kill him.  Here is where we are introduced to the donkey that Balaam was riding that saw what Balaam didn’t and then talked to Balaam.

Numbers 22:22-35:  But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him.  Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him. 23 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand, the donkey turned off from the way and went into the field; but Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back into the way. 24 Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path of the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side. 25 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pressed herself to the wall and pressed Balaam’s foot against the wall, so he struck her again. 26 The angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn to the right hand or the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his stick. 28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” 29 Then Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have made a mockery of me! If there had been a sword in my hand, I would have killed you by now.” 30 The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I ever been accustomed to do so to you?” And he said, “No.”

31 Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand; and he bowed all the way to the ground. 32 The angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was [i]contrary to me. 33 But the donkey saw me and turned aside from me these three times. If she had not turned aside from me, I would surely have killed you just now, and let her live.” 34 Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned, for I did not know that you were standing in the way against me. Now then, if it is displeasing to you, I will turn back.” 35 But the angel of the Lord said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but you shall speak only the word which I [j]tell you.” So Balaam went along with the leaders of Balak.  NASB

Those of us not from the Church of Pergamum are represented by the Donkey.  Even though we see through a glass darkly and don’t understand all the plans within plans that God has, we do see small glimpses of His plans in the prophecies in scripture and recognize that God is working with the Jews in the State of Israel for His purposes.  We are not fooled by the world and the lies being told about the House of Judah and we don’t join in cursing them.  Instead we love and support our brother Judah.

Are you of the Church of Pergamum and Balaam or are you the Donkey that recognizes the Angel of the Lord and some of God’s plans in scripture? Those that curse Israel will be cursed and those that bless Israel will be blessed.  Choose wisely the path you take!
